In 1943 on of these troopships carried the 1st Household Regiment from Port Said to Naples. It was named the SS Strathnaver. Can anyone identify which of these photos is the right one?

The upper photo matches others I've seen of Strathnaver. Would you have any information on sailing dates, specifically a trip in early January 1943 transporting troops from Liverpool to Oran, Algeria?

Correction: I'm interested in the voyage the ship made departing Greenock, Scotland on January 24, 1943, and arriving Oran, Algeria on the night of January 31-February 1. Anyone? Anything?

I am interested to find out more about Strathnaver when she sailed from Gourock to Bombay arriving 15th August 1944 with 250 V.A.D.'s on board as well as troops. I am trying to find out the the troops on board and also ships she was in convoy with, especially at Liverppol as I believe there were R.A.F. on board one of the ships. Any other information would be useful.

My dad was on this shop during the war. I found a record of the ships manifest for its arrival into New York in 1943 on the US immigration service website, which listed everyone on board including my 16 year old dad Bernard Avis

I have found a diary written in by my Grandfather, he boarded the Strathhaver on 18th May 1944 in Southern Italy possibly Salerno, mentions heading to Spain and then presumably to the UK
